Chips Grand Holiday Number. London: 25 Bouverie Street. [Amalgamated Press]. No. 935 (new series). 1 August 1908.

It is 1908. Affordable four-cylinder Ford cars are selling well in England. Willie and Tim take a spin in a “banger”, only to end up in hospital. In the summer of 1908, a huge demonstration of suffragettes takes place in London’s Hyde Park (see woman wearing sash “Votes for Women” in panel 4). And note the OXO advert on the car’s number plate (panels 5 and 7); in 1908, OXO is the official caterer of the London Olympic Games. Artist not identified. For further Willie and Tim items, see B3–B7, C9, C23, D6, D7 and F1.
